Over the past few years, smartphones have been a big part of our lives. We use them for a lot more than just making calls and sending text messages, that have become a central part of our day to day living, and we now use them to browse the internet, check the weather, send emails, make payments, check social media, play games and a lot more. These changes have only come about fairly recently, and the change has been rapid, begging the question, what does the future hold for mobile phone usage?
The experts over at Play Mobi show us the use of mobiles in real time, and this alone proves that people are using their mobile devices for so much more than they were a few years ago. For example, people conduct google searches on their mobile multimillion times every single second, comment on Facebook, view a video on sites like YouTube, send snaps on Snapchat and a whole lot more.
Already phones are changing how we live our lives, and are replacing many of the tools that are currently in use to complete simple tasks. We can now use our mobiles in replacement of light switches, our wallets, our alarms and our TV remote controls. Plus, with their faster processing times and bigger screens along with the ability to be portable, it is not really surprising that they are replacing a lot of the things that we used to have to do on our desktop computers.
There is no question that our futures will become even more tied to our mobile phones as technology continues to increase the amount of uses for our devices grows.
Let’s take a look at some of the ways that mobile phones may be used in the future:
Keys
Keys are heavy and bulky and you need a different key for almost everything you own. In the future, it is likely that people will be using their phones to lock and unlock things such as a house, car, safe, and various others. Plus, phones may even have the ability to lock things remotely, so you will never have to be worried about if you have locked your car ever again.
Virtual Reality
The use of VR is already on the rise, and many people have already purchased a virtual reality headset to go with their device. In the future smartphones will be able to offer a much more affordable way to enjoy VR with many more opportunities to make use of it.
Flexibility
Nothing to do with the technology inside the phone, but just as useful, is the idea of a flexible mobile frame. So flexible in fact, that they can actually be folded in half by the users. This would be especially useful for those that only have a compact place to store their device, use it when they are doing sport and just for overall comfort.
Holographic Displays
You see holographic displays in all Sci-Fi films, and it is something that we may think of as the distant future. However holographic screens may not be too far away, with rumors that a holographic element will be included in the next few releases of mobile devices. This could open up a whole new world of mobile phone usage.
AI
Artificial Intelligence is also on the rise, with the development of tools such as Amazon Alexa and Siri. With further development in this technology, a mobile phone is likely to become more like our personal assistance than ever before, with a smartphone being able to understand your habits and help you with more everyday tasks.
