According to a new report by Forrester, only 7% of adults are non-reachable through mobile marketing. Why? Well, because they don’t own a mobile phone. That opens up a large percentage of adults who are reachable. VentureBeat shared some key information from the report. For instance, adult mobile phone users are placed into five categories:

  • Talkers
  • Communicators
  • Connectors
  • Entertainers
  • SuperConnecteds

Marketing through mobile devices has become a crucial component of many businesses’ web marketing strategies. However, knowing your audience and who to target can sometimes be a challenge. That same report tells us that those who are “SuperConnected” are the group of adults that make up an astounding 48% of mobile phone users.

For mobile marketers, this group is the most significant piece of the pie. They are connected to the outside world in so many ways, such as social networking, app usage, game playing as well as managing their finances online. “These are the users you can engage through innovative and advanced mobile marketing programs,” states Melissa Parrish, Forrester analyst.

Unlike those who actually use their telephone to communicate via talk or text, which amounts to between 7-16%. This gives us some perspective as to where and when we should market.
